Chirk Castle and Garden is a National Trust medieval fortress near Llangollen where dogs are welcome across the garden, Pleasure Ground Wood and wider estate. While the castle rooms themselves are restricted to assistance dogs, the outdoor areas offer a proper heritage day out with your dog, including woodland trails and formal garden spaces to explore together.
Dogs must stay on a short lead in the garden and estate and are not permitted in the kitchen garden, Adam Tower or children's play area. The courtyard tearoom has overflow outdoor seating where dogs are welcome, giving you a spot to rest between castle views and woodland walks.
Open daily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Chirk Castle makes a substantial visit for dog owners who want medieval history, estate grounds and garden access without leaving their dog behind. There's no charge for parking at the Chirk Castle car park and the dog-access rules are clearly set out so you can plan your visit confidently.
