That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

A proper “let the dog lead the day” kind of place. Dunham Massey is all wide-open parkland, ancient trees, and that slow, wandering energy where no one is in a rush — especially not the dog.
You’ve got huge deer park walks, flat easy loops (ideal for those “we’ll just do a quick lap” lies), and plenty of space to stretch legs without constantly checking Google Maps. There’s a nice rhythm to it: walk, sniff, pause, repeat.
When it’s time to reset, you’re not stuck hovering outside. There’s a dog-friendly indoor section in the Stables Restaurant plus the ice cream parlour, so you can actually sit down together like civilised beings. Big outdoor terrace energy too if the weather behaves.
This is one of those places that quietly turns into a full half-day without trying. Mud optional. Satisfaction guaranteed.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Treats available
Doggy Menu available
Dog Policy:
Dogs on short leads are welcome across the parkland and deer park, and in the gardens from midday.
Dogs are allowed inside a designated area of the Stables Restaurant and in the ice cream parlour, with outdoor café seating also available.
