The Edinburgh Larder is a well-loved café on Blackfriars Street, perfectly placed for breakfast, brunch or lunch if you're exploring the city centre. Dogs are welcome inside and outside, so you can bring yours along without compromise. It's the kind of place that works for a proper sit-down with the papers or a quick pit-stop between walks.

The Royal Mile is just outside and the Grassmarket is within easy reach, so there's plenty of sniffing ground nearby if you want to combine food with a proper outing. The location is central enough that you won't need to drive far; street parking is tight in this area and the bus will get you there faster anyway.

Booking ahead is sensible, especially at weekends or during peak visitor season. Check the official opening hours before you head out, so you're not caught without a plan.
