Food Museum

The Food Museum in Stowmarket is a dog-friendly heritage attraction set across 20 acres of historic farm buildings and outdoor exhibits exploring centuries of food production and rural life. Dogs on leads are welcome inside most museum buildings, making it one of the few museums where your dog can join you through the galleries rather than waiting outside. Four buildings are excluded for ordinary pet dogs—Abbot's Hall, Crowe St Cottages, the Bone Building and Alton Watermill—but the rest of the site, including several exhibition spaces and outdoor areas, is open to well-behaved dogs on leads.

The extensive grounds and working farmyard mean there's plenty to explore together, even with the named exclusions. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm (4pm in winter) and closed Mondays except bank and school holidays.

Tickets can be bought on the day or online. There's a museum car park on site, accessed via Iliffe Way, so you can arrive without the usual town-centre parking shuffle.
