The Ship Inn is a traditional village pub in Trefin, a small coastal hamlet just outside St Davids on the north Pembrokeshire coast. Dogs are welcome inside the pub, including in the dining room, so you and your four-legged walker can settle in together after a long stretch on the coast path. Food is served Friday to Sunday at lunch and Wednesday to Sunday evenings, with the kitchen closing Monday to Thursday lunchtimes.

The menu leans into classic pub fare and the atmosphere is warm and unpretentious. The pub is open daily from noon until 11.30pm, so there's plenty of time for a pint and a breather.

Trefin sits between St Davids and Porthgain, making The Ship a useful stop for walkers tackling the north Pembrokeshire coastal loop. The village itself is quiet and unfussy, the sort of place where wet paws and sandy leads go unnoticed.
