The Start Bay Inn is a classic seaside pub in Torcross, about seven miles south of Salcombe on the coast road and dogs are welcome inside the hard-floor bar areas where food is served throughout the day.

There's a free customer car park on site, which sorts the logistics before you've even untangled the lead and water bowls are provided on the patio. The pub opens daily from 11:30am until late, with food served until 9:30pm. It's the kind of place that works equally well for a lunchtime stop on a coastal drive or a wind-down after a beach walk and the dog can stay by your side without the usual indoor-outdoor shuffle.

The combination of seafront setting, straightforward dog access and proper pub atmosphere makes this a handy addition to a Salcombe day trip or any outing along this stretch of the South Devon coast.
