Sutton Hoo is the National Trust estate near Aldeburgh famous for its Anglo-Saxon royal burial ground and atmospheric riverside setting. The estate includes marked walking trails, the High Hall exhibition, Tranmer House, a café, shop, second-hand bookshop and observation tower, along with on-site parking and blue badge spaces at the front of the main car park. Dogs on short leads are welcome on all the estate walks, inside the café, gift shop and second-hand bookshop.

The High Hall exhibition and Tranmer House are assistance-dog only, so this is a better visit for dogs who enjoy exploring the outdoor heritage landscape rather than touring the major indoor displays. Sheep and lambs graze on site, so lead control matters throughout.

It's a brilliant day out for dog owners who want history, fresh air and space to roam without leaving the dog behind at every turn. Estate walks open from 10:00, the café from 10:00 and the bookshop from 11:00, with different closing times across the facilities.
