Tamar View Nurseries is a large, established garden centre on Callington Road at Carkeel, Saltash, and dogs are welcome inside throughout the retail areas. Well-behaved dogs on leads can join you as you browse plants, gardening supplies, outdoor furniture and everything else a proper garden centre stocks, which makes it a genuinely useful stop for South East Cornwall households and anyone approaching from Plymouth.

The garden centre is open Monday to Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 10am-4pm, with an on-site restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and cakes. Free parking is available. The scale and range make it worth the journey when you need more than a hanging basket and don't want to leave your dog in the car. The welcome is clear and the aisles are open to leads.

Whether you're planning a border refresh or hunting down compost in February, your dog can stay with you while you shop. Dogs aren't allowed in the restaurant's carpeted dining area, but they're welcome throughout the retail spaces, which means the practical list gets ticked without separating the household for the plant-buying part of the day.
