Aysgarth Falls Yorkshire Dales National Park Visitor Centre
Last Updated:

The centre is a great starting point for anyone wanting to make the most of this beautiful area. There are interesting displays about the area, guidebooks and leaflets and of course, friendly staff to help you enjoy the National Park in just the way you want. If the National Park Visitor Centre is not open, you can still use the car park and visit the waterfalls and local walks.
You can ask us in the Visitor Centre about:
Planning your visit
Buying maps, books, souvenirs and clothing
Leaflets and brochures
Booking accommodation
How to get to and around the area by public transport
We have an all-terrain wheelchair (also known as a tramper) which can go to the upper and middle falls. A tramper can be used off-road and even on rough ground, mud and grass. It enables people who have difficulty walking, who are less able, or who may be disabled, to experience the countryside and to accompany friends and family when out walking.
You can book the tramper through the Access to the Dales website, or you can call the centre to reserve it.
The Coppice Cafe
The Coppice Café is behind the National Park Visitor Centre and is open for both sit-in and takeaway refreshments. The cafe provides exceptional espresso coffees as well as a selection of delicious cakes and meals, all of which are made in-house. They cater for all dietary requirements and have a range of products available for Vegetarians, Vegans and Coeliacs.
They serve a variety of ice creams (including their renowned Gelato Swirl) and cold drinks are also available, including a range of non-alcoholic refreshments (beers, cider, wine, Gin & Tonic).
These can all be enjoyed in their outdoor seating area, where you can relax, enjoy the fresh air and listen to the water cascading over the falls in the background. Should the weather turn inclement, there is an indoor seating area to ensure that guests remain dry and warm, especially during the cooler months.
Group bookings are welcome. Please get in touch with Sheryl on 07500 420865 should you require any further information. You can download a PDF version of the Coppice Cafe menu here (please note that this is subject to change and is a guide only - last updated 20 August 2025).
When the National Park Visitor Centre is closed, the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority online shop can still be accessed to make purchases.
You can find out about walks and things to do in Aysgarth and the surrounding area here.
