Turf Tavern

The Turf Tavern in Oxford has a rich history after first opening its doors way back in 1381. In the many centuries that have passed, we have served everyone from literary greats like C.S. Lewis to movie stars such as Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor.

Our location can be tricky to find, as we're tucked down narrow passageways. But that just means we're a hidden gem to discover. Our family-friendly spot is perfect for feasting, with a generous food menu offering classic dishes, seasonal splendours and decadent desserts.

Quench your thirst with a drink from our well-stocked bar, with a generous range of 12 real ales, beers and delicious wines. Our spacious beer garden is a gorgeous spot to seize the summer sunshine but there's also heated cover for unexpected showers.
