The Lamplighter has been a firm favourite on the Windermere bar scene since it opened over 21 years ago. As far as bars in the Lake District go, we firmly believe that The Lamplighter offers a wonderful variety to suit all tastes.

It’s location could not be more perfect, as we are the closest bar in Windermere to the main train station. We offer an excellent selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, from premium lagers and locally brewed ales, through to premium spirits and an extensive wine list.

Just a leisurely 25-minute stroll from Bowness and the serene shores of Lake Windermere, our hotel warmly welcomes dogs across all room categories. Plus, your companions are invited to join you in our cosy lounge bar, where we serve pet-friendly meals from breakfast through to dinner.

With so many fabulous breweries in The Lake District, why not sample one of our guest real ales. We will also make cocktails on request to original recipes and only using the finest ingredients. With the bar located within the hotel and in the centre of Windermere village, just leave your car and indulge! As with our menu, our absolute focus is offering the very best available produce in the market place.
