Aberconwy House Second-hand Bookshop sits in the heart of Conwy, tucked inside one of Wales's oldest surviving medieval buildings. Dogs are welcome inside the shop, so everyone can browse shelves of pre-loved titles together without anyone being left tied up on the pavement outside. It's a natural stop on a day exploring the walled town and castle quarter.

The bookshop is run by the National Trust and stocks a changing selection of second-hand reads alongside guidebooks and local interest titles. Opening hours are Thursday and Saturday 10am to 4pm, and Friday 11am to 4pm — a handy window for a browse between walks or while the rain passes. There's no on-site parking, but the shop sits at the corner of Castle Street and High Street with pay-and-display options nearby.

Conwy railway station is around 300 yards away, making this an easy car-free stop. For dog owners working their way around the walled town, a quiet rummage through pre-loved books in a 14th-century merchant's house is a hard combination to beat.
