ABOUT THE DOG FRIENDLY MAP

The Dog Friendly Map provides information about dog-friendly venues, attractions, services and other locations. The website may include venue descriptions, dog-access information, photographs, links, maps and other useful details.

We actively research potential listings and also accept submissions from businesses and members of the public.

The Dog Friendly Map is an information and recommendation service. Inclusion on the website does not constitute an inspection, accreditation or guarantee of a venue, business, product or service unless expressly stated otherwise.

VENUE AND LISTING INFORMATION

We take reasonable care to research listings and present information accurately. Information may be obtained from venue owners, official websites, official social-media accounts, direct correspondence and other sources we consider reasonably reliable.

Dog policies, opening hours, menus, facilities, prices, ownership and other venue details can change without notice. Information displayed on the website reflects the information available to us when the listing was researched or last verified.

We cannot guarantee that every listing will remain complete, accurate or current at all times. You should check any detail that is essential to your visit directly with the venue before booking or making a special journey.

DOG ACCESS AND PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

"Dog friendly" can mean different things at different venues. Where possible, we explain whether dogs are welcome inside and identify any known restrictions.

Venue owners and staff retain the right to apply their own policies, impose conditions or refuse entry. Visitors remain responsible for supervising their dogs, following venue rules and deciding whether a particular place is appropriate for their dog and circumstances.

The Dog Friendly Map does not assess or guarantee general safety, accessibility, food suitability, suitability for children, transport arrangements or the individual suitability of a venue for a particular person or dog.

SUBMITTED LISTINGS AND CORRECTIONS

Businesses and members of the public may submit venues or suggest changes to existing listings.

Submitting information does not guarantee that a listing will be published. We may verify, edit, decline, suspend or remove a listing where reasonably necessary to protect the accuracy, quality or integrity of the website.

Anyone submitting information confirms that, to the best of their knowledge, it is accurate and that they have permission to provide any photographs or other protected material included in the submission.

By submitting information, you give us permission to check, edit, publish and use it as part of The Dog Friendly Map, including in our maps, listings and licensed data services. You keep ownership of any material that belongs to you.

If you believe that information on the website is incorrect, outdated or infringes your rights, please contact us using the details above.

BESPOKE DOG-FRIENDLY SHORTLIST SERVICE

Customers may purchase a bespoke shortlist of dog-friendly places through the website.

We will use the information supplied with the order to research and prepare a personalised selection of places that we reasonably consider relevant to the request.

The service provides recommendations only. It does not include bookings, transport planning, a timed itinerary or a guarantee that every suggested venue will meet every personal preference.

WHAT THE BESPOKE SERVICE INCLUDES

We will normally provide a shortlist of 10 suggested places, together with relevant dog-access information and links where available.

We will make reasonable efforts to match the destination, preferred travel distance, venue types and dog-related requirements supplied with the order.

Suitable options depend on what is available locally. Where we cannot find an exact match, we may include the closest reasonable alternatives and explain how they differ from the original request.

CUSTOMER INFORMATION

Our recommendations depend on the information supplied by the customer. Customers are responsible for providing an accurate destination, preferred travel distance, requirements, email address and any other information requested on the order form.

We are not responsible for an unsuitable recommendation resulting from materially incomplete or incorrect information supplied with the order.

If clarification is needed, we may contact the customer before beginning or completing the research.

DELIVERY

We aim to deliver each bespoke shortlist by email within 60 minutes after receiving the completed request and payment.

If we require additional information from the customer, the delivery period will begin once that information has been received.

Occasionally, circumstances beyond our reasonable control may cause a delay. If this happens, we will contact the customer as soon as reasonably possible.

PERSONAL PREFERENCES AND REFUNDS

Payment covers the research and preparation of the bespoke shortlist.

A refund will not be provided merely because a customer does not personally like, choose to visit or agree with one or more of the suggested places, provided that we have performed the service with reasonable care and taken reasonable account of the information supplied.

These terms do not affect your statutory consumer rights. If the service has not been provided with reasonable care and skill or is materially different from the service described, please contact us so that we can put the matter right.

CANCELLING A PERSONALISED MAP ORDER

Customers purchasing our Get My Map service online will normally have a 14-day cancellation period.

During checkout, customers may expressly request that we begin researching and creating their personalised map before that cancellation period has ended.

If a customer asks us to begin during the cancellation period and then cancels before their map is complete, we may charge a proportionate amount for work already performed.

The right to cancel will end once the personalised map has been completed and delivered, provided the customer expressly requested early performance and acknowledged that the right to cancel would be lost upon completion.

Nothing in this section limits any statutory cancellation, refund or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

VENUE CHANGES FOLLOWING DELIVERY

A bespoke shortlist is based on information reasonably available when the research is completed.

Venues may subsequently change their opening hours, dog policies, menus, services or availability. Customers should confirm any essential information directly with a venue before booking or travelling.

We are not responsible for changes made by a venue after a shortlist has been prepared or for a venue refusing entry, closing unexpectedly or providing an experience that differs from a customer's personal expectations.

PAYMENTS

The price of a paid service will be displayed before the customer submits the order.

Payments are processed through the payment provider shown at checkout. We do not guarantee the continued availability of any particular payment method.

Customers must provide complete and accurate payment information and have authority to use the selected payment method.

COPYRIGHT AND DATABASE RIGHTS

The content and arrangement of The Dog Friendly Map, including its original text, branding, design, software, graphics, research, verification work, selection and organisation of listings, are protected by copyright, database rights and other intellectual-property laws.

Individual public facts may not themselves belong to us. Our rights protect the original material we create and the substantial work involved in researching, checking, selecting, maintaining and presenting The Dog Friendly Map database.

Content owned by venue operators, photographers or other third parties remains the property of its respective owner.

You may view and download reasonable extracts from the website for your personal, non-commercial use. You must not, without our prior written permission:

- reproduce or republish substantial parts of the website;

- copy, repeatedly extract or rebuild our listings or database;

- use automated tools to scrape or harvest website content;

- use our content to create or populate another directory, map, database, product or service;

- sell, license or commercially exploit our content or data;

- remove copyright, credit or ownership notices; or

- present our content, research or verification work as your own.

Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property to website users.

AI AND AUTOMATED USE

Our content and database must not be used for commercial artificial-intelligence purposes without our written permission or a separate licence from us.

This includes using automated tools or crawlers to collect TDFM content for AI training, fine-tuning, grounding, retrieval, embeddings, generated answers, recommendations or the creation or improvement of another dataset or service.

Permission for ordinary search engines to index and link to TDFM pages does not include permission to use the content for AI training or commercial generative-AI services. Automated access must also follow any instructions published in our robots.txt file or other machine-readable notice.

This section does not prevent any use that the law says cannot be restricted, including qualifying text and data analysis for non-commercial research.

DATA LICENSING

Commercial access to selected TDFM data may be available under a separate written licence. A licence will explain what information may be used, for which purpose and for how long. It will not include photographs, third-party material, AI-training rights, resale or redistribution unless this is expressly agreed.

Licensing enquiries should be sent to sarah@thedogfriendlymap.co.uk. The fact that content is publicly visible or technically accessible does not grant a commercial or AI licence.

EXTERNAL LINKS

The website contains links to websites and services operated by third parties.

Following an external link means leaving The Dog Friendly Map. We do not control third-party websites and are not responsible for their content, availability, security, privacy practices, products or services.

The inclusion of a link does not necessarily constitute an endorsement or partnership.

WEBSITE AVAILABILITY AND SECURITY

We aim to keep the website available and functioning properly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

We may update, suspend or withdraw part or all of the website where reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, legal or operational reasons.

Users are responsible for using suitable security software and protecting their own devices and accounts.

ACCEPTABLE USE

You must not use The Dog Friendly Map:

- unlawfully or fraudulently;

- to interfere with the operation or security of the website;

- to introduce malware or other harmful material;

- to gain unauthorised access to any system or data;

- to scrape or systematically extract website content without permission; or

- to infringe the rights of another person or business.

We may restrict access where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached.

OUR RESPONSIBILITY

We take reasonable care when researching listings and preparing bespoke shortlists. However, venues operate independently from The Dog Friendly Map and may change their policies, opening hours, facilities or services without telling us.

We are not responsible for a venue's actions or for changes made after our information was researched. Customers should confirm any detail that is essential to their visit directly with the venue before travelling.

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights or excludes responsibility that cannot legally be excluded.

PRIVACY AND PERSONAL INFORMATION

We collect and use personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. This may include information such as your email address, details you choose to provide when signing up to The Dog Friendly Map, information supplied when purchasing a service, and information about how the website is used.

We may share personal information with trusted companies that help us operate The Dog Friendly Map, for example website, email, payment, analytics and other service providers.

We may also, where permitted by law and where we have told you clearly when collecting your information, share, license or sell certain personal information to selected third-party businesses for commercial purposes. These may include businesses connected with dogs, travel, leisure and other products or services that we reasonably think may be relevant to our users.

We will not sell or share personal information for these purposes secretly or in a way that is inconsistent with the choices you have made.

Where consent is required by law, we will ask for it separately. You can withdraw your consent or object to the use of your personal information where applicable.

Our Privacy Policy explains in more detail what information we collect, how and why we use it, who we may share it with, how long we keep it and the rights you have in relation to your personal information.

CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these terms when reasonably necessary, including to reflect changes to the website, our services or the law.

The terms applying to a paid order will be those presented to the customer when that order is placed, unless a change is required by law.

The latest website terms will be published on this page with the updated date shown above.
