Aira Force and Gowbarrow Park

Aira Force and Gowbarrow Park is a National Trust waterfall and woodland site near Keswick, with trails, picnic areas, a welcome building and an on-site tea-room that welcomes dogs inside and out.

Parking is available in the National Trust car park on site and the tea-room's indoor dog welcome is particularly handy when the weather turns theatrical or paws need a rest after a muddy trail session. It keeps the day relaxed and allows everyone to settle in without splitting up the group or negotiating pavement waiting. Dogs must stay on leads and under control, which makes sense given the terrain, livestock caution and visitor density, but the site is set up for dogs and humans to enjoy the day together.

The tea-room makes it a proper visitor day out rather than just a generic walk and the indoor welcome means post-walk cake can happen without the usual who-waits-outside logistics.
