That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Ali @ Adele's Café in Ilfracombe is a harbour-side café where dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement shuffle while someone else orders. It's the kind of place where the dog clocks the vibe instantly: friendly faces, warm smells, and absolutely no judgement if your "sit" looks suspiciously like "strategic loafing".
Expect proper breakfast and lunch comfort, plus cakes and cream teas that make humans go quiet for a minute. Service is quick, the atmosphere is cosy, and there's enough choice to keep fussy eaters and gluten-free folk happy too.
It's ideal after a coastal stomp when your shoes are damp, your cheeks are rosy, and your dog is carrying half the beach home in their coat. Bonus points for being the sort of place where dogs are treated like small, slightly hairy locals.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Treats available
Doggy Menu available
Dog Policy:
Well-behaved dogs are always welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle. Please keep them on a lead.
