The Alma Tavern is a traditional pub-restaurant on Droitwich Road in Worcester, a short walk from the Worcester & Birmingham Canal and Gheluvelt Park. Dogs are welcome inside at the bar, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle while the rest of the group settles in.
Open daily from noon — Monday to Thursday until 10:30pm, Friday and Saturday until 11pm, and Sunday until 10pm — the kitchen serves hearty pub meals, stone-baked pizzas, a carvery and a rotating specials board. The kitchen runs Monday to Wednesday until 8:30pm, Thursday to Saturday until 9pm and Sunday until 6pm. On-site patron parking makes it an easy stop after a canal walk or a city wander, and live acoustic music runs every Saturday evening with quizzes through the week.
A proper community local with real ales, generous plates and the kind of easy-going atmosphere that suits a dog quietly hoping nobody notices the chip tax happening under the table.
