The Alnwick Garden

The Alnwick Garden is a major landscaped visitor attraction in Alnwick, offering cascading fountains, sculptural planting and gardens designed for drama and delight. Dogs are welcome in the Garden itself on Thursdays and Sundays only, on a short non-extendable lead, with a maximum of two dogs per person. On all other days, dogs can still visit the Bakery and use the walkway between the Greenwell Road and Denwick Lane entrances.

The official dog-days policy keeps things crystal clear: the Garden is open to dogs twice a week, but the Bakery welcomes them every day. The Atrium and Bakery are the only indoor areas where dogs are allowed; the Poison Garden, Lilidorei, ticket sales and other indoor spaces including cafés, shops and toilets remain off-limits.

Parking is available off Denwick Lane (B1340, postcode NE66 1FJ) with a per-car daily charge. If you're planning a visit with your dog, aim for a Thursday or Sunday and keep that lead short—this is a ticketed attraction with strict rules, but it's also one of the most striking garden experiences in the North East.
