The Angel Inn is a central Durham pub on Crossgate, right in the middle of the city's main visitor area. Dogs are welcome inside, so you can drop in for a quick pint or settle in for the afternoon without leaving anyone tied up outside. It's an alternative city-centre spot with a laid-back bar atmosphere and live music.

The pub opens daily from midday, running through to 11pm Sunday to Thursday and midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. That means you've got plenty of flexibility whether you're planning a daytime stop or an evening visit after a walk around the city.

CAMRA lists The Angel as dog friendly and the venue keeps it simple: dogs on leads are welcome throughout. It's the sort of pub where the whole group stays together, the floor's seen plenty of muddy paws and no one bats an eyelid at a dog under the table.

Good to know:

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside. Keep them on the lead and they're fine for a quick pint or a longer stop, so the whole group stays on the right side of the door.
