Ardgour Ales

Ardgour Ales is a brew pub on the far side of the Corran ferry, a few miles south of Fort William. Dogs are welcome inside the taproom, which makes it a proper stop when the ferry timetable and the weather line up against you. The place brews on-site and serves food alongside the house beers, so you can settle in with lunch or an afternoon pint while your dog watches the loch traffic from under the table.

The taproom runs Wednesday to Sunday, with hours stretching longer on Fridays and a bit shorter mid-week. It's a straightforward pub setup—ferry, beer, dog, done—and the sort of detour that works when you've driven this far and need everyone off their feet for half an hour.

If you're already crossing to Ardgour for a lochside walk or heading down the peninsula, it's worth timing the return leg around a drink here. The fire's on when it needs to be and the whole group stays on the right side of the door.
