Arduaine Garden

Arduaine Garden is a formal coastal garden on the A816 about 20 miles south of Oban, looked after by the National Trust for Scotland and offering a proper day out for dog owners who enjoy exploring plant collections and gentle pathways with their lead-trained companions. Dogs are more than welcome throughout the garden on a short lead at all times, so you can stroll the lower garden together, follow the routes to the coastal viewpoint and enjoy the seasonal planting without leaving anyone behind in the car.

Open daily from 10am to 5pm between 17 March and 1 November, the garden is a manageable visit rather than an all-day hike, with free on-site parking including a disabled space right by the entrance. The visitor centre, shop and café keep the same hours, making it easy to plan a tidy morning or afternoon stop.

Guided tours are available but must be booked in advance. The lower garden is the easiest area for less mobile visitors and the layout suits dogs who are comfortable on lead around other visitors and the occasional tempting flowerbed.
