That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Ashton Hall Garden Centre is one of those places where you arrive for “just compost” and leave with a new plant family and a biscuit in your pocket. It’s an independent spot with a thoughtful mix of plants, garden bits, and gifts, plus the Pear Tree Café for a proper sit-down reset. The café looks out over the Perennial Garden and leans into local produce, fresh cakes, and scones that have a suspicious ability to vanish quickly. If the day needs upgrading, their afternoon tea is the kind of treat that turns a normal errand into a small event. Expect a calm, leafy wander, then a warm drink while your dog supervises the crumbs situation.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Treats available
Doggy Menu available
Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome inside. Keep leads handy in the plant aisles, and remind your dog that compost is not a snack and pots are not bowling pins.
