Auntie Janis's is a compact independent café on St Leonards Road in Windsor, where dogs are welcome inside. It's a friendly local stop on the west side of town, useful if you're walking the quieter streets beyond the central visitor crush or need a mid-morning breather with the dog still by your side.

The café opens Wednesday to Friday from 8:30am to 1:30pm and Saturday from 9am to 1:30pm, so timing matters if you're planning a weekend Windsor wander. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious and your dog can settle in beside you while you take a seat.

One especially thoughtful touch: doggy sausages are served in the café. It's a small detail that makes a real difference when your dog's been patient and you'd like to mark the occasion with something more than a borrowed biscuit.
