Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings

Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings in Bromsgrove is a large open-air heritage museum where well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome to explore the 19-acre grounds alongside you. With around 30 reconstructed historic buildings spanning centuries of English architecture, it's a proper day out for curious dogs and their history-loving humans. The museum opens Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm during school holidays and Wednesdays and weekends in term time, with booking recommended to secure your space.

Dogs are also welcome inside the tearoom on leads, so you can refuel together without the usual back-and-forth to the car. The museum's outdoor pathways wind between timber-framed halls, windmills, Victorian prefabs and even a working narrow-gauge railway, giving plenty of sniff-worthy ground to cover. Free parking on site makes the logistics easier when you're juggling leads, bags and tickets.

Access to the indoor historic buildings themselves isn't confirmed for dogs, but the grounds offer plenty to see. It's a thoughtful mix of outdoor heritage exploration and a proper pit-stop for both ends of the lead.
