Bangor Castle Walled Garden

Bangor Castle Walled Garden is a restored formal garden in the centre of Bangor, open daily with free admission and on-site parking in Castle Park. Dogs are welcome to explore the garden paths and outdoor areas on a lead, making it an easy addition to a town-centre day out alongside the castle and North Down Museum. The walled garden features sculptures and a fountain set within traditional planting and there's a café on-site.

The garden opens 10am to 6pm daily from April to October, with reduced hours in the winter months and stays open later on summer weekday evenings. It's a calm spot for a short visit when you're already in town and want a green pause between errands.

Dogs must stay on a lead throughout the garden and some event marquees or tents may exclude dogs during special events. The garden itself is the main dog-friendly area, so it's best enjoyed as an outdoor visit with your dog alongside the wider Castle Park grounds.
