Bar eS opened in 2017 and brought a little Mexican-inspired warmth to Ambleside’s slate-and-stone Lake District backdrop. Inside it’s rustic and relaxed, made for evening meals, long chats, and that sweet moment when you finally sit down after a day of “just one more viewpoint”.
Food comes in sharing-style Mexican-inspired tapas, perfect for groups, hungry walkers, or anyone who wants to try a bit of everything. The drinks list keeps up too, with guest craft beer on tap and an ever-changing craft can range, including local names like Fell Brewery. If beer isn’t your thing, this is your sign to go cocktail. They’re known for fresh, quality cocktails, and yes, they make a seriously good margarita.
There’s also a beer garden with heaters and a canopy, so you can cling to the outdoors even when the Lake District does its moody-weather routine. Dogs welcome inside in all areas (except the kitchen), which means nobody has to miss out or wait outside doing the sad stare.
Dog Policy:
Dogs welcome inside in all areas except the kitchen. Dogs are also welcome in the beer garden, which has heaters and a canopy for cooler nights. Try to keep dogs close and settled, especially when it’s busy and plates are landing at nose height.
