Bark + Bite in Shrewsbury is the new name and new chapter for the team behind Blind Tiger, with dogs welcome inside. Still based on Hills Lane, it is being reshaped from a night-time speakeasy into an easy-going neighbourhood hangout, moving from flat whites and cake during the day to espresso martinis and music after dark.
The drinks list stretches beyond coffee to loose-leaf teas, signature and classic cocktails, alcohol-free creations, beer, cider and wine. Board games and late opening keep some of Blind Tiger’s sociable evening character, but the new format should work just as well for a slower daytime stop as it does for cocktails later on.
Dogs are actively welcomed inside rather than simply accommodated, making Bark + Bite a particularly useful town-centre address for dog owners. It is a place to settle for coffee and cake or stay into the evening without anybody being left behind.
