Barnwood Park and Arboretum is a Green Flag awarded open space in Gloucester's Barnwood ward offering around six hectares of parkland for gentle walks and fresh-air resets. The park and arboretum were once part of the Barnwood House estate, with the arboretum later designated a Local Nature Reserve. Expect mature trees, open grass and a sense of proper park calm that suits everything from a quick loop to a longer potter.
The arboretum area is managed for wildlife value with grassland habitat and seasonal grazing used as part of the site's management. Entry is free, making it an easy add-on to a day in Gloucester when you want greenery without a big drive.
Dogs are welcome across the park, though leads are required in the arboretum section to protect grazing animals and wildlife habitat. It's a straightforward local green space for a calm walk when paws need stretching and nobody wants to overthink the plan.

Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome across the park. In the arboretum section they'll need to stay on the lead to keep grazing animals calm and wildlife undisturbed. Bring bags and keep paws under control around livestock.
