Barrington Court is a National Trust estate near Ilminster, about 19 miles from Wells, where dogs on leads are welcome to explore most of the garden areas, parkland and estate grounds. The Kitchen Garden and Strode House are off-limits to ordinary pet dogs, but there's still plenty of space to enjoy mature gardens, avenues and open parkland together. The estate offers a proper day out for dog owners who appreciate structured outdoor access with clear boundaries.

The free on-site car park includes accessible spaces behind Beagles café, making arrival straightforward even when you're juggling leads and bags. Barrington Court is open daily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The Court House remains closed for major conservation work, so the focus is on the gardens and grounds. Keep your dog on a short lead, especially around livestock and make the most of the National Trust's generous outdoor welcome.
