That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Bessie's Tea Parlour in Broadstairs is a proper step-back-in-time tea room where dogs are welcome inside. Think vintage china, homemade cakes, and generous pots of tea poured while you settle in for a good catch-up. It's the kind of place made for long chats, cream tea decisions, and that "shall we stay for another?" moment that always seems to happen.

Cosy, nostalgic, and full of gentle charm, with plenty of corners for a well-behaved dog to curl up while crumbs mysteriously appear. The menu leans into homemade treats and proper tea service, so you can linger over scones, cake and conversation without anyone rushing you along.

A lovely wet-weather refuge when coastal walks turn damp, and the sort of tea room that makes pavement waiting unnecessary—paws and people can enjoy the warmth and vintage atmosphere together.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside, where they can tuck themselves under the table while you settle in with tea, cake and a proper catch-up. Keep them on a lead, relaxed at your feet, and ready for the occasional crumb that might just fall their way.
