ZOOM OUT TO EXPLORE

Indoor Welcome Last Verified:

20 Oct 2026

The Boathouse Restaurant sits on the shore of Loch Insh, a few miles from Aviemore near Kincraig, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner in a lochside bar and restaurant. Dogs are welcome inside in the bar area so you can eat and drink together after the walk or between outdoor sessions on the loch.

The menu runs from morning pastries and cooked breakfasts through lunchtime mains to evening dinner service, with the bar open daily and free parking on site. It's a practical pitstop for dog walkers exploring the Cairngorms and the setting makes it easy to fold food into a day that includes the water, the paths and the hills.

The whole group can settle in at the table, your dog included, so there's no need to split up or rush through a meal. Indoor dining with dogs makes this a genuinely useful stop when the weather turns or you're ready to sit down properly.
