Borrans Park sits right by the northern shore of Windermere and is perfect for a gentle wander, a sit-down with a view, or letting your dog do that slow-motion shoreline sniff like it’s a professional inspection.

You’re right by the remains of Ambleside Roman Fort, a 2nd-century fort built under Hadrian’s rule as part of the Roman presence in Cumbria, with a Roman road leading towards the ruins.
