Brookside Inn has a more local-pub feel than some of the busier central stops, with real ales, live sport, quiz nights and a straightforward food offer that includes pizzas and Sunday roasts. It sounds friendly and community-rooted, which can be a nice change of pace from more tourist-heavy venues. One practical note: the venue’s own site says it has been temporarily closed since February 2026, so this one may be more of a hold-for-later listing than an immediate visit.
