Butler's Emporium in Hastings is a gift and homeware shop in the old town, where dogs are welcome inside. It's the sort of place where you go in for one card and leave with a candle that costs the same as your lunch.

The aisles are packed with "I didn't know I needed that" treasures, home bits and temptingly sniffable finds, so keeping your dog close and noses supervised makes browsing easier for everyone. It's a useful wet-weather stop when pavement waiting isn't appealing.
