That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

The Buxton Pudding Emporium is a café and gift shop rolled into one, tucked just off the main stretch on Hardwick Street — part tearoom, part foodie treasure trove, and very easy to linger in longer than planned.
It’s the home of the Original Buxton Pudding, made on-site and served with their signature custard, alongside a full spread of homemade cakes, light lunches, sandwiches and fresh coffee. The café side feels cosy and welcoming, ideal for a proper sit-down moment rather than a grab-and-go stop.
Wander through and it opens out into the shop side, where shelves are packed with locally sourced and carefully chosen treats — chocolates, biscuits, teas, preserves, plus gifts, homeware and build-your-own hampers that make it dangerously easy to leave with more than you planned.
It’s one of those places that works as both a destination and a detour — pudding stop, gift hunt, or a slow hour with coffee while the dog settles under the table.
