Bwlch Nant yr Arian Visitor Centre

Bwlch Nant yr Arian Visitor Centre sits 9 miles east of Aberystwyth on the A44 and it's one of the best outdoor day trips you can do with a dog in mid-Wales. Dogs are welcome across the walking, running and mountain bike trails, including the accessible Barcud Trail and the red kite feeding station turns a forest walk into a proper spectacle.

The forest and trails are open all year round and there's an on-site car park with paid contactless or RingGo parking—Blue Badge holders can register for free. Dogs must be kept on a lead or under close control throughout the trails and trail diversions or closures can happen in extreme weather or for maintenance.

The site also has play areas, picnic spots and portable toilets open every day, with a beverage and cold food unit usually running from 10:00 to 16:00 (extended to 17:00 between Easter and autumn half term). Whether you're after a sniff-paced lakeside amble or a proper leg-stretch through the forest, this is a destination that works hard for dogs and their people.
