Caerhays Castle Gardens is a managed historic woodland garden near Truro, where dogs are welcome on the garden grounds on leads. This is a proper visitor day out: 140 acres of signposted walks, spring planting, guided tours, a tea room and shop on site and a garden map to keep everyone oriented. Dogs stay with the group for the whole wander, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle while everyone else disappears into the magnolias.

The gardens are open daily during the season and parking is available for visitors. Group bookings mention the castle parking area subject to availability. This is a useful stop for dog owners planning a proper Cornish garden day without splitting up the group or negotiating who waits outside with the lead.

The lead rule keeps things straightforward and the signposted walks mean you can plan a route that suits muddy paws and everyone's stamina. It works for a calm morning mooch or a longer spring-planting pilgrimage, depending on how enthusiastic the dog is about woodland sniffing and how much you trust your own legs on historic estate paths.
