That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Cafe 34 is a café tucked inside Dutch Living on Castle Street in Shrewsbury, which gives it a slightly different feel from the standard standalone coffee stop. Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle while someone else browses homewares. It's run by The River View Café and specialises in locally sourced produce, with strong plant-based options and a cosy atmosphere that suits a slower mooch rather than a rushed grab-and-go mission.

The setup works well for lunch, coffee or cake when the day already involves shopping and nobody needs much encouragement to sit down for a while. That combination of café and interiors browsing makes it a useful little Shrewsbury pause point when you want coffee and food with a side order of cushions and candles.

Handy for wet-weather refuels or when shopping has reached the "sit down immediately" phase, with paws and people together throughout.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside, so this works nicely for coffee or food when shopping has reached the "sit down immediately" phase. Expect an easy refuel, a cosy pause and a dog keeping hopeful tabs on anything edible.
