Carrick-a-Rede is a dramatic coastal visitor attraction near Ballycastle, famous for its rope bridge suspended 30 metres above the rocks. The National Trust site combines spectacular clifftop scenery with a proper day-out experience and dogs on leads are welcome across most of the estate. On-site parking is included with bridge tickets, so you can head straight to the coastal paths without the usual car-park negotiations.
Your dog can join you on the scenic coastal route and in the indoor areas including the Weighbridge Tearoom, but they're not allowed on the rope bridge itself. That means you'll need a second pair of hands if everyone wants the full crossing experience, or accept that one of you stays clifftop with the lead.
The tearoom welcome is a useful bonus when the weather turns or you need a sit-down with a cup of tea. Open daily from 9am to 4:30pm, Carrick-a-Rede makes a brilliant North Antrim Coast stop for dog owners who want big views, fresh air and a bit of adventure without leaving their four-legged companion behind.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Free treats available
Doggy menu available
Dog Policy:
Dogs on leads are welcome on the coastal route and in indoor areas including the Weighbridge Tearoom, but not on the rope bridge itself.
