Castell Harlech is a major Welsh heritage castle near Barmouth where dogs on short leads are welcome on the ground floor. Non-assistance dogs must stay on ground-floor areas, including the visitor centre and are not allowed on the upper levels, towers or wall walks. It's a proper castle visit with your dog, set dramatically on its clifftop site.
The castle opens daily with seasonal hours: 9.30am to 5pm March to June and September to October, 9.30am to 6pm July and August and 10am to 4pm November to February. Tickets can be booked online. There's a small pay-and-display car park immediately adjacent to the entrance, with free disabled parking.
Dogs must be kept on short leads throughout the ground-floor areas. The ground-floor access covers the visitor centre and lower castle levels, making it a well-suited day out for dog owners visiting the Barmouth area who want a strong heritage attraction where dogs are welcome.
