Castlerigg Stone Circle

Castlerigg Stone Circle stands in open farmland a short drive from Keswick and is one of the Lake District's most atmospheric prehistoric monuments. Managed by English Heritage and the National Trust, the whole circle and surrounding grounds are open to four paws and their people, free of charge and with no booking needed.

It works well as a standalone stop or as part of a wider Keswick day out. There is limited roadside parking near the site. The stones themselves are off-limits for paws and people alike, but the rest of the site is yours to explore together.
