Cath's Garden Plants in Kendal is a plant nursery and garden shop tucked into a walled garden setting, where the air smells like compost, possibility, and "I definitely have space for one more pot." Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle while you browse hardy plants, seasonal colour, and those little garden bits you didn't know you needed until you saw them.

The vibe is calm and gently inspiring, perfect for pottering about while your dog does an enthusiastic sniff-tour of every leaf (politely, hopefully). If you're unsure what will survive your level of gardening chaos, you'll usually find helpful advice that makes you feel briefly competent.
