The Chalet Coffee Bar is one of those long-standing local spots that feels woven into Gorleston life. It’s been on Lowestoft Road since the 1960s, and that history gives it a proper old-school café feel rather than anything polished or fussy.
This is the kind of place people head for when they want a straightforward, comforting café stop. Think coffee, breakfast, and that familiar “locals already know the drill” atmosphere that can actually be very reassuring when you’re new to the area.
It’s also a handy one to know about if you’re exploring Gorleston with your dog. Plenty of customers ask for a sausage from the menu for their dog, which says a lot about the easy, down-to-earth feel of the place. Simple, established, and very much a local café rather than a touristy pit stop.
