Chatelherault Country Park is a five-star visitor attraction just east of Hamilton, offering over ten miles of routed pathways, a restored 18th-century hunting lodge, visitor centre, café, gift shop and exhibition areas. Dogs are welcome throughout the country park grounds, making it an ideal day out for dog owners who want heritage interest alongside proper outdoor roaming space.
The paths wind through woodland and open parkland, with some steep sections and steps on certain routes, so you can tailor your walk to suit your dog's energy and your own stamina. The park is open 24 hours a day, while the visitor centre runs daily from 10:00 to 17:00 and the lodge house opens Sunday to Thursday, 10:00 to 16:30.
On-site parking is confirmed, including disabled parking. Whether you're after a quick loop or a longer expedition, Chatelherault gives you the combination of green space, interesting buildings and practical facilities that makes a country park visit genuinely worthwhile rather than just another walk.
