Cheddar Gorge & Caves

Cheddar Gorge & Caves is a spectacular show caves and heritage attraction just outside Wells, where dogs on leads are welcome in all attractions – including the caves themselves. This is a proper day-out destination with panoramic viewpoints, multiple exhibits and the chance to explore underground with your dog by your side, rather than leaving them in the car.

All well-behaved dogs are welcome inside the caves, retail shops and outdoor café seating areas, making it one of the strongest dog-friendly visitor attractions in easy reach of Wells. Some add-on activities may have separate booking or access rules, but the main experience is genuinely open to dogs.

On-site parking is available with daily charges and the attraction is open seven days a week, 10am to 5pm. Keep your dog on a lead throughout and remember not to leave them in the car – the policy is clear that dogs should stay with you during your visit.
