Running along the seafront in Cleethorpes, the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway is one of those rare attractions that feels just as fun for adults as it does for kids. It's one of Britain's oldest seaside miniature railways, carrying passengers since 1948 and still very much part of the local day-out ritual. The journey itself is simple but brilliant — a relaxed ride along the coastline and around the boating lake, with views out towards the Lincolnshire coast before looping back inland. The full return trip takes around 30 minutes, making it an easy add-on to a day by the sea.

There's more going on than just the train too. You've got a café, snacks, crazy golf, and even the famously tiny Signal Box Inn (yes, an actual pub), which turns it into more of a linger-a-while stop than a quick ride. It's nostalgic in the best way — simple, cheerful, and quietly memorable.

For dogs, it's a proper win — they don't just wait at the side, they're coming along for the journey. Dogs travel on the trains for a small fee and stay on the lead throughout, which keeps the ride smooth for everyone while paws get their own seaside railway moment.
