Cleggs is a family-run home and gift shop on Goodramgate that feels rooted in York’s independent shopping scene rather than the usual tourist-shelf churn. The range is eclectic and affordable, covering gifts, homeware, jewellery, scarves, decorations and vintage-style finds, with many items made in-house and much of the stock fairly traded. Its location near Monk Bar and just a short walk from the Minster makes it an easy browse-stop, and it has that cheerful, rummage-friendly energy that suits a slower wander through the city.
