Conwy Water Gardens is a free-entry woodland garden and wildlife site in Rowen, about five miles from Conwy in the Conwy Valley. The grounds include a nature trail winding through shaded woodland, fishing lakes and ponds, and a Dutch pancake house serving food Wednesday to Sunday. Dogs are welcome throughout the gardens and nature trail on short leads, making it a genuinely easy dog-friendly day out in the Snowdonia foothills.

The pancake house accepts only guide dogs inside, but outdoor seating is available where dogs can join their people for a post-wander pancake stop. The gardens and shop are open Wednesday to Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with the pancake house serving from 11:00 a.m. Wednesday to Sunday. Fishing runs from 8:00 a.m. for those wanting an early start. Entry to the gardens is free, and on-site parking is available.

Plenty of sniff-worthy territory, shaded paths and waterside wandering mean most dogs will consider this a very successful outing. Booking for the pancake house is advisable during busy periods, and opening times can vary through the year.
