Coughton Court

Coughton Court is a historic National Trust estate near Alcester, set around a Tudor house, formal gardens and a working stableyard with café and shop. Well-behaved dogs on short leads are welcome in the Stableyard area and on the wider estate trails, making it a proper day out for owners who want a dose of history alongside the walking.

The house and formal garden remain off-limits to ordinary pet dogs, but the Stableyard gives you somewhere to pause with a coffee while your dog supervises the café tables and the estate trails offer plenty of sniffing territory beyond the ticketed areas. It's the kind of place where the dog gets a good walk and you get a bit of Tudor drama without having to split up.

The main car entrance is on the A435, with parking at the Stableyard. The estate is open Wednesday to Sunday, 9am to 4.30pm and the Stableyard facilities are free to access even if you're skipping the house tour.
