Right in the heart of the city on Cornmarket Street, it leans into all-day dining with breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, cocktails and Sunday roast. Dogs are welcome in the bar area, so paws and people can stay together.

The interiors are characterful and plush, and the venue adds extra personality with The Treasury, a private dining room set in what used to be part of a bank vault, complete with original panelling and stained glass. It's polished without being stiff, which is a very useful sweet spot. Bar tables are first come, first served, so arrive with good timing.

A strong central Oxford option for everything from casual catch-ups to slightly grander "let's make an event of it" meals, with the bonus that dogs don't have to wait on the pavement while humans disappear into the vault.
