That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Right in the heart of Whitby, Cranberry Swamp is one of those cafés that quietly becomes your “we’ll just pop in” and then suddenly you’re planning your next visit before you’ve even left. It’s a chilled, stylish spot known for its gluten-free focus and inclusive menu, with everything from proper breakfasts to lighter plates and cakes that accidentally turn into a second round.
Inside, it leans relaxed rather than rushed, the kind of place where you can sit, reset and let the day unfold at its own pace. And crucially, it fits beautifully into a dog-friendly day in Whitby, giving you that indoor pause button without splitting the pack. A full dog menu is on the way, but in the meantime they’re more than happy to cook up a sausage or bacon on request, which tends to go down very well 🐾
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Treats available
Doggy Menu available
Dog Policy:
Dogs are very welcome here and quickly realise this is a proper “settle in and stay a while” kind of spot. There are free puppuccinos, plenty of strokes and genuine fuss from the team, and a relaxed feel that makes it easy for them to fully flop into the moment.
